Proposal Engineer

The Proposal Engineer is responsible for preparing technical proposals for all CBI Group products, including centrifugal, axial, and mixed-flow industrial fans, in line with customer requirements and company objectives.

This role serves as a liaison between the sales team, the technical department, and the customer, ensuring that proposals are complete, accurate, and competitive.

Key Responsibilities

Review of Requests and Specification Definition

• Analyze RFQs received from customers through the sales team.

• Interpret technical specifications and reference standards.

Fan Selection and Technical Analysis

• Assess fan performance using dedicated software or internal calculation tools.

• Perform preliminary noise analysis to ensure compliance with sound level requirements.

• Carry out mechanical sizing checks on key components such as impellers, bearings, shafts, and couplings.

Cost Calculation and Design Optimization

• Estimate costs related to materials, manufacturing, and assembly.

• Collaborate with the technical department to optimize fan design and reduce costs without compromising performance.

Customer Interaction

• Provide technical support in discussions with customers to clarify specifications or suggest alternative proposals.

• Attend meetings to negotiate technical details of proposals.

Post-Sales Support and Internal Collaboration

• Assist internal teams during the transition from proposal to design and production phases.

• Provide technical support to the sales department and customers in case of revisions or clarifications.

Continuous Improvement

• Analyze feedback from proposals and projects to continuously improve selection and proposal processes.

• Develop tools and methods to make the proposal process faster and more efficient.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Energy, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.

• Familiarity with technical calculation software (e.g., CFD, FEM) and CAD tools.

• Experience (even academic) in mechanical component sizing.

• Languages: Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of French or Spanish is a plus.

• Soft skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and teamwork.
