Centrifugal Fan Manufacturer Since 1963
CBI Group is an industrial centrifugal fan manufacturer specialised in designing and producing fans for demanding industrial conditions. While our industrial fan manufacturer overview covers our full range, including axial fans, this page looks specifically at what makes CBI a reference point for centrifugal technology.

Centrifugal fan manufacturer: our series and technical specifications
As an industrial centrifugal fan manufacturer, CBI does not offer a single fan design adapted to every use case. Each series is built around a specific combination of impeller geometry, blade type and construction execution, matched to the operating conditions of the plant it serves, across a range of 11 dedicated centrifugal series.
The table below summarises the technical range across CBI's centrifugal series.
| Series | Blade type | Max flow rate | Max pressure | Max temperature |
| Ch | Airfoil/ Backward inclined-flat / Backward-curved / Radial | 450,000 m³/h | 6,500 Pa | 300°C |
| Cht | Airfoil / Backward inclined-flat / Backward-curved | 750,000 m³/h | 5,000 Pa | 300°C |
| K | Backward inclined / Radial / Backward-curved | 370,000 m³/h | 9,000 Pa | 300°C |
| Z | Backward-inclined | 400,000 m³/h | 9,500 Pa | 300°C |
| S | Backward-inclined | 200,000 m³/h | 25,000 Pa | 300°C |
| M | Backward-inclined | 340,000 m³/h | 18,000 Pa | 300°C |
| X | Backward-inclined | 500,000 m³/h | 10,000 Pa | 300°C |
| N | Backward-inclined | 11,000 m³/h | 8,000 Pa | n/a |
| CB | Forward curved / Backward | 20,000 m³/h | 2,000 Pa | n/a |
| H | Backward inclined | 10,000 m³/h | 15,000 Pa | 300°C |
Impeller diameters go up to 2,450 mm on the Ch and ChT series, which also holds the highest flow rate in the range. The S, M and X series are designed for heavy-duty applications.

Materials and special executions
Selecting a centrifugal fan manufacturer is partly a question of range, and partly a question of what the fan is actually built from. CBI offers several construction executions across the centrifugal range, chosen according to the fluid and environment rather than applied as generic upgrades:
- stainless steel AISI execution, for applications requiring resistance to corrosion and wear;
- polypropylene execution, available on the Z, Ch and K series for handling highly corrosive or acidic fluids where metal constructions are not suitable;
- gastight execution, for processes where fluid leakage cannot be tolerated;
- insulated execution, reduces noise and temperature and extends the fan's service life.
ATEX-compliant execution is available on request across the centrifugal range for equipment operating in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Engineering and testing capabilities
Behind CBI's centrifugal fan range is an R&D department working on three fronts: CFD simulation to study aerodynamic behaviour before a fan is built, FEM analysis to predict structural response, stress and vibration under real operating loads, and a dedicated testing room where fans are validated according to AMCA standards.
This combination lets CBI move from a customer's technical requirements to a validated design without relying on trial and error on-site, which is one of the reasons some CBI fans installed in the 1990s are still running today.

CBI's Spares & Service Division is what keeps the promise made at the point of sale: a service network operating under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, capable of on-site intervention wherever a customer's plant is located. Manufacturing the fan is only part of what CBI offers. For centrifugal fans, CBI's own and those originally built by other manufacturers, the Division provides:
- installation and commissioning;
- preventive and emergency maintenance;
- on-site or factory revamping;
- testing and diagnostics;
- supply of original or interchangeable spare parts, including reverse-engineered components for legacy fans no longer covered by original drawings.
This lifecycle approach, design through production, service, revamping and spare parts, all handled in-house, is one of CBI's core differentiators: the company positions itself as the only Italian fan manufacturer offering this level of full-cycle support.

Partner with a centrifugal fan manufacturer built for the long term
Choosing a centrifugal fan manufacturer means choosing who is responsible for that fan's performance for the next twenty or thirty years, not just for the day it's installed. CBI Group manufactures more than 23,000 fans a year across its full range, and every centrifugal project draws on that same manufacturing scale and engineering discipline. That's the timeframe CBI's engineers have in mind when they recommend a series, a material or an execution.
