High Temperature Centrifugal Fan: Heavy-Duty Engineering by CBI

A high temperature centrifugal fan is designed for the safe and continuous extraction of hot air and processed gases in heavy-duty industrial environments. Unlike standard fans, CBI solutions are built for reliable operation at 400°C as standard, with special executions reaching 700°C and beyond for the most demanding processes.

CBI solutions for high temperature duty

CBI’s key advantage lies in an automated approach to custom tailor-made design: one that compresses development timelines, eliminates manual errors, and ensures every technical parameter is precisely matched to the application. Each project starts from a thorough analysis of the customer's operating conditions - flow rate, temperature, fluid composition, pressure requirements - before a single component is specified.

For high-temperature duty, CBI offers special executions developed to meet the most stringent industrial requirements:

  • Insulated execution: for thermal containment and acoustic attenuation, essential in plants where heat dispersion affects both energy efficiency and operator safety;

  • Materials and protection: stainless steel AISI 304 and AISI 316, galvanisation, and gastight executions for corrosive or chemically aggressive environments - built to hold up against acidic gases, abrasive dust, and chemical vapours over years of continuous operation.

What is a high temperature centrifugal fan?

A high temperature centrifugal fan is an industrial ventilation unit designed to move hot air or process gases under elevated temperature conditions, maintaining both plant safety and production continuity.

The working principle is straightforward: air or gas enters centrally and is accelerated by the impeller, which redirects it towards the tangential outlet at increased pressure. This capacity to develop high pressure, even across long or complex duct networks, is what makes the centrifugal configuration the right choice for the harshest thermal applications, where axial fans simply cannot compete.

CBI's range covers operation up to 400°C as standard, with custom-built executions for temperatures of 700°C and beyond.

Typical fields of application include:

CBI Group: expertise since 1963

Founded in 1963, CBI Group has spent over six decades developing industrial centrifugal fans for some of the world's most demanding environments.
Today, with 4 production plants and 6 branches worldwide, CBI manufactures more than 23,000 fans per year, a scale that reflects not just production capacity, but the trust earned across global markets.

But CBI's strength goes beyond production scale. It lies in the approach to every project: each fan, however complex, is developed through a controlled engineering process, supported by advanced simulation tools including CFD and FEM analysis, and validated in in-house testing facilities. The result is a product built to last.

Completing the offer, CBI is the only Italian company capable of providing full lifecycle support for industrial fans: from design and manufacturing through to maintenance, revamping, and spare parts supply. Specialist technicians intervene directly on-site anywhere in the world, with no intermediaries, covering installation, commissioning, preventive and emergency maintenance, and subscription-based maintenance contracts.

For high-temperature applications, this means a single point of accountability across the entire life of the asset - from first specification to last overhaul.
